4th Annual African American Health Fair

Open Cities Health Center (OCHC) is partnering with Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in St. Paul to hold the clinic’s 4th Annual African American Health Fair as part of Black History Month. The African American Health Fair will be held on Friday, February 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wilder Foundation, 451 Lexington Parkway in St. Paul. It is free and open to the public. “This year’s theme is Celebrating Legacy for Healthier Communities, Young and Old,” said OCHC Community Health Worker Char Lankfard. “We want to recognize the contributions African Americans have made to health care while we also recognize the role we all play in making our communities healthy. This is a health fair for people of all ages.”

This year’s health fair will feature:
  • Health screenings and education from the University of Minnesota including cholesterol screening, smoking cessation education, GERD education, and HTN screening.
  • Information and displays for children, teens, families and seniors.
  • Interactive events for children and adults
  • Giveaways.
  • Entertainment, music and food
  • Various Twin Cities’ organizations, agencies and businesses will be participating.
  • Everyone is welcome – there is no charge! This is a fun event where you can learn about science, medicine and how to take care of your health and the health of your family!
