SATELLITE CLINICS

OCHC has two satellite clinics. One is in the Hubbs Adult Learning Center and the other is in the Liberty Plaza housing complex. OCHC operates weekly clinics at both of these sites and in 2007 served over 1,000 patients. Services provided include prenatal education, free pregnancy tests, free dental screenings and fluoride treatments for children, free glucose and blood pressure screenings. The OCHC community health workers (CHWs) serve as a bridge between clients at the satellites sites and the health providers at the two clinic sites. Following is a description of the two centers:

Hubbs Adult Learning Center: 1030 University Avenue, St. Paul.
The Ronald M. Hubbs Center is a program of the St. Paul Public Schools' Community Education Department. Educational services are available to adults who want to improve their basic skills, earn a GED, prepare for employment or post-secondary education, or learn English. The Hubbs Center is also a partner in the St. Paul Literacy consortium, a collaboration of agencies throughout Saint Paul that provide literacy services to adults in our community. Lao Family Community: 320 University Avenue West, St. Paul.
The mission of the Lao Family Community is to facilitate and promote the success of Hmong Americans in Minnesota while also recognizing and supporting other immigrant and refugee populations. For information about OCHC's weekly clinic at Lao Family Community call Pa at (651) 290-9215.

Liberty Plaza housing complex: 290 Arundel, St. Paul.
Liberty Plaza is operated by Twin Cities Housing Development Corp. (TCHDC), an affordable housing development located in St. Paul.s Summit-University neighborhood. Liberty Plaza has over 500 residents, and most are either African or Southeast Asian. Many are refugees and recent immigrants.
